But I’m less enthused by the CVT

I owned a vehicle with a CVT once. It was a 70cc scooter.

I don’t mind the cat in the forester or outback. I haven’t driven a cross trek yet.

I think I just don’t like how long it’s taking me to get used to it. I didn’t realize how rammed into my brain it is that cars have gears, so driving something around that never shifts is throwing me off a lot. I don’t imagine I’d do well with anything electric either. I also understand what people mean when they say it feels like there are rubber bands involved, although I only notice that when I’m starting from a stop.

Personally, I’m not a fan of the black-silver two-tone wheels (not just Subie’s)...
I can appreciate that it’s a breath of fresh air to the silver wheels we’ve always had, but I think the two-tone thing is getting way overplayed - to the point where it’s just being done because everybody else is doing it. But 10-20 years from now, it’ll be a defining feature of (20)10's cars for sure.
